The Charitable Outreach Committee of Zion Church once again invites nominations of local organizations in need of financial contributions to further their programs of assisting people in need.
The Vestry each year approves a Committee proposal that the Parish award up to specified portion of church funds to local charitable organizations that meet certain criteria.
The 2012 process for submission, consideration and award is as follows: Parishioners are invited to nominate their candidates for consideration to Peg Ripton, Committee Co-Chair, up until the deadline of October 31st. Please provide the name of the organization, address, key contact name and telephone number. In addition, please provide any literature pertaining to the organization as well as a financial statement, if available. We will review all applications and notify those organizations that qualify for consideration.
Applicants under consideration must be prepared to present their requests in person, with a review of their previously submitted material, on Saturday, in November (date to be announced) at Zion Church. Organizations unable to present in person will not be eligible for awards.
The Committee will deliberate and then choose those organizations that will receive awards which will make a significant impact to the neediest as compared to awarding many small contributions. Awards will be identified by the Committee at its November meeting and submitted to the Vestry at the Dec. 11th meeting and thereafter announced.
