Adult Christian Formation
As we continue to seek new ways to grow in our relationship with God and others, Zion’s programs and offerings continue to evolve as well. Currently we offer:
Wednesday Morning Bible Study
Every Wednesday at 10:00 am, we meet in the church to reflect on the Scripture appointed for the day. We practice Lectio Divina, a meditative and prayerful reading of the Bible for purposes of devotion, rather than for scholarly study. We conclude our conversation with Holy Eucharist.
Faith Forums on Sunday Mornings
Beginning in Lent, we will offer faith forums on Sunday mornings between the two services. At 9:00 am, we will meet in the Parish Hall to learn about different forms of prayer. We have also offered forums on the basics of Christianity and the Episcopal Church.
Deanery Lenten Series
Every Wednesday in Lent at 7:00 pm, a different parish in the deanery will offer dinner and a program called Signs of Life: Why Church Matters. The series will explore the riches of our worship traditions, liturgy and sacraments, and the art and architecture of our worship spaces, revealing the full meaning of these signs, deepening our experience of Christian vocation and guiding us toward ongoing conversion.
Faith & Justice @ Zion: Conversations that Matter
Our Faith & Justice Ministry periodically offers book discussions and film nights to help us to discern, reflect and share the new narrative with the rest of the congregation in the same spiritual journey that will lead all of us to work together towards healing, restoration and reconciliation.
