THIN PLACES
THIN PLACES is a podcast experiment we started in 2020 to share the new ways we were meeting God in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. We told stories about the “thin places” we’d found: places where God felt close, where we could feel the breath of the Holy Spirit passing over us.
In early 2023 we launched a second “season” that focused on such thin places in time. We’re gathering stories of people who step across a threshold into a new chapter of their lives. When they look back through that doorway, they find that their past looks different. They’ve stepped into a new story, and have to ask themselves what parts of their past fit in this new story. What are the gifts of their past that they want to bring along? What are some of the wounds they carry from that past, that they are now called to heal? What are identities or habits that it’s time to let go of?
Sharing stories is one way that we grow together in faith and hope and love. As this season goes on, we’ll also use these stories from our own individual life to reflect together on the history of this parish, Zion. What pearls of great price do we have in our nearly 200 year history? What wounds might need to heal?
